Introducing Glenda Lagomarsino

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
I'm Glenda Lagomarsino and I'm 22 years old. I live in a little town near Florence called Borgo San Lorenzo. After high school I moved to Florence where I graduated at Polimoda, International Institute of Fashion Design and Marketing, in a triennial course of fashion design.

2. Tell us a little bit about the concept behind your collection.
For this collection I was inspired by the people of Papua New Guinea, the last population of cannibals. I'm fascinated by the volumes of Shamans and by the importance women give to the head to support their clothes. My collection focuses a great deal on these waves. Many dresses in this collection are intertwined. I've studied the position that women take in some photos; taking this position, they change their silhouettes, they change their body, and I changed the proportion.

mvg, by Merel van Gils

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
My name is Merel van Gils or mvg,. I am a product designer from Utrecht, The Netherlands. I'm interested in fashion and fascinated by the way people use fashion in their daily life.

2. Tell us about the idea behind your project – what does “365” mean?
During one year I’m making a design of something, every day. I take a picture and upload it onto my website. The subjects are diverse but the main theme is fashion. I started '365' because I have so many different ideas and this project creates the perfect opportunity for me to elaborate them all. The idea starts with a person or problem I run into during the day. For example; a man with an obvious toupee, my mom who wasn't able to take her dog into a shop, a friend who bought healthy running shoes, a weekend in Brussels. Resulting in: a series of toupees, a doggy bag, healthy shoes, waffle hair and Flemish gloves.

Lilach Eliyahu

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
My name is Lilach Eliyahu, I'm 28 years old. I was born and raised in Israel but now I'm living in Barcelona. I grew up in a family that moved a lot because of my father's work. All of those transitions were not an easy thing for a young girl but at the same time they were an educator. Thanks to that I got to meet many different people, habits and ways of living and thus, formed the theme of my final project. I believe my childhood memories and events turned out to be a major influence on the person I am today.

 2. Tell us a little bit about the concept behind your collection?
My inspiration is a childhood memory. When I was a little girl my family and I moved a lot, from the city to the suburbs and even to the Kibbutz. All of those transitions left me with the feeling that I don't have a clear nostalgia. In my collection I use parts of dolls’ and little girls’ dresses. Although the collection looks very colorful and sweet, when you take a closer look you can see that it is not as sweet as it seems. The collection demonstrates the dialogue between the child, the new woman and her old doll. I used knit, quilt, chiffon, silk and other fabrics from the child's world.
