Ting Gong will present her new collection at FASHIONCLASH Festival on Saturday July 2. You can get your tickets here.
Describe yourself in three words.
A listener, a rebel and a stick-to-it-ive.
How would you define fashion?
Fashion is a field that involves a lot of various collaborations with other creative fields in order to create a notion of futurism, that illustrates something new and potential.
Who are your artistic influences or inspirations and why?
Hussein Chalayan and Chuang Tsu.
Finding your own voice is difficult, where and how do you find your personal creativity (before you start designing; during the design process)?
Believe in a simple idea, and create an universe out of it through a lot of practice.
What challenges did you face during the design process?
The challenge is how to integrate material and technology around the autonomous design.
What do you want to communicate with your designs in general?
To bring an interest of an understanding to the fundamental freedom of the human awareness, emptiness and silence.
Can you tell us something about the project you will present at the FASHIONCLASH Festival?
It’s a continuing project of my main concept “__________ That Disappears”.
What does your collection try to communicate (what is it about)?
It’s about something extra, something unnecessary.
Why have you decided to participate at FASHIONCLASH Festival?
It’s more a festival stage than a fashion show.
What can we expect from you at the festival?
A lot of silent dazzle. For the presentation of the collection I am collaborating with sound designer Tamara van der Laarse.
