FASHIONCLASH Festival 2015 at Museum aan het Vrijthof

and product designer  Michal Avraham.
Museum aan het Vrijthof is once again one of the locations during FASHIONCLASH Festival Side Program.
June 6 - 14

The MahV will present several gender related installations by young theatrical performers, designers and artists: Lisa Schamlé, Malou Beemer & Eef Lubbers, IAEA, Luca Tichelman and Hean Kim.
MIJNshop/MIJNcollectie project is also on display at the museum.

On June 14 you can meet the participants from 12am - 1 pm at the museum.

To visit this Museum aan het Vrijthof you need a ticket.

(OLD)Fashion(ed) Exhibition Opening & Stroop premiere

(OLD)Fashion(ed) exhibition at Museum aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht opened this evening. The opening featured premiere of  the performance 'Stroop', created by Project Sally and designer Sabine Staartjes. For this project they where connected to the craft of syrup, and in particular collaborated with Canisius company.

(OLD)Fashion(ed) is a collaboration with FASHIONCLASH, Nederlandse Dansdagen (Dutch Dance Festival) and Museum aan het Vrijthof.

Four choreographers, four fashion designers were inspired by crafts like metal shaping, papermaking, wheat weaving and syrup making. They created four danced fashion shows or four fashionable dance works, with untrained dancers between the ages of 63 and 80. The project started of with its first presentations during FASHIONCLASH Festival 2014.

At Museum aan het Vrijthof you can also visit the exhibition (OLD)Fashion(ed), which will have its festive opening on 21 September and run until 16 November.

During the Dutch Dance Festival in Maastricht all four performances of (OLD)Fashion(ed) will be performed. Two of the performances will be shown in the Toneelacademie, and the other two in the monumental Museum aan het Vrijthof during the Dutch Dance Festival (October 3 -5). You can buy a combination ticket that allows you to see all the performances, on the time of your choice -> here

(OLD)Fashion(ed) Introduction

Last week, we came together at Museum aan het Vrijthof for (OLD)Fashion(ed) introduction and meeting with crafts men and women. It was an inspiring encounter with experienced artisans who are all eager to take part in this special project.

(OLD)Fashion(ed) is a collaboration with the Dutch Dance Festival and Museum aan het Vrijthof.
In this project, experienced crafts women and men share their knowledge with young fashion designers. The collection, worn by models of 65 years and older and presented with dance performances by renowned choreographers, will be on display during FASHIONCLASH Festival and the Dutch Dance Festival (October 2014). The project concludes with a special exhibition at the Museum aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht.
The exhibition displays the costumes and video's from (OLD)Fashion(ed) project, and will provide sights to the personal lives of the involved artisans.

FASHIONCLASH Invito Shoe Design Challenge Winners are

In collaboration with Invito, FASHIONCLASH invited talent to develop a shoe concept where creativity and sustainability are coming together. The Shoe Design Challenge was born as a platform to contribute to the development of new (fashion) talent.

Ten designers, Malou Fool, Marleen Huijsmans, Lotte van de Laar, Judith van Vliet, Wendy van den Ham, Chris van den Elzen, Sarah El Mahi, Milou van den Berg, Monique Schraven and Milou Hillegers, where selected to work out their concepts.

Today the jury came together at Museum aan het Vrijthof in Maastricht, where all the design where exhibited.
The jury, existing of Bas Kosters, Invito and FASHIONCLASH awarded three designers. Men's shoe by Malou Fool and women's shoe by Monique Schraven will be taken into production and will be sold in Invito stores in 2014. Chris van den Elzen received an honorable mention for his innovative and inspiring shoe design.
We are very proud of this project and all ten designers who accepted this challenge.

Selection time for Shoe Design Challenge


Today was the selection time for the 'FASHIONCLASH Shoe Design Challenge powered by Invito'. We sat with Invito and Museum aan het Vrijthof team and went through all the proposals. At last 11 promising and very diverse projects are selected and will be announced this week.

FASHIONCLASH @ Museum aan het Vrijthof

One of the main events in FASHIONCLASH Side Program 2013 is an exhibition at the beautiful Museum aan het Vrijthof.
Five designers from Euregio Meuse-Rhine are invited to create new work inspired by the museum.
The exhibition will be open for public from June 5th 2013.

Five designers are: Atelier Milada by Ann Boogaerts, Bregje Cox, Gabriel Guevara, Ingo Binder and Joelle Boers.


In connection to the celebration of 5 Years 'FASHIONCLASH Maastricht' there will be an overview of few highlights.
- There will be a showcase of the 2011 project 'FASHIONCLASH Fashion Procession' that was organized in collaboration with Heiligdomsvaart Maastricht 2011.
- Exhibition of Soirée Artistique Maastrichtse Componisten with work of designers Annemarije van Harten, Saba Tark and Anya Liesnik.
- 5 years of FASHIONCLASH Maastricht with work of Femke Agema and pieces from the Clash Project
