Andrea Mohr presents “Inversion”

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
My name is Andrea Mohr. I was born and raised in the city of Bonn in Germany. After high school I went to live in Tokyo for one year and then came to Maastricht in the Netherlands to pursue my studies in fashion design. I specialize in womenswear, in which I explore different techniques and prints.
Lately, I've increasingly focused on prints and the “lenticular effect”, that simulates moving images.
After graduation, I will further specialize in this and work towards a collection and a range of accessories that will be exhibited as part of MARKED!, an initiative of Designplatform Limburg and C-Mine in Genk that works with ten young designers and helps them produce and sell their products. These items will also be sold in selected stores at the end of the year.

Introducing Elvira ‘t Hart

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
My name is Elvira ‘t Hart and I’m 23 years old. I graduated in 2011 from the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in Fashion Design.

2. Where do you get your inspirations from?
A lot of inspiration comes from my own drawings. There is no real inspiration when I draw, mostly I draw just for the sake and love of drawing. Occasionally I’m really ‘designing’ while I draw or depicting a design that’s already in my mind.
Sometimes I see a drawing I made weeks ago without any purpose. After my initial surprise that I made it myself there's a sense of fascination. From there it grows into a new design or print.

Marly van Lipzig and the transformation of 2D forms into 3D shapes

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)
My name is Marly van Lipzig and I graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven (The Netherlands) with a small series of jewellery and a print collection, and by doing so, my passion for prints was born! My interest in prints started growing when I was doing a print for the collection of Hussein Chalayan while I was interning there for 8 months. Another work experience at the print and textile development department of Jonathan Saunders confirmed that this was my field of specialization. During my studies I explored my own ideas on prints and created my 1st collection; The Architecture of Prints, which I will be showing during Fashion Clash 2012
