LUDUS | FASHIONCLASH Festival 2017

Meet Dragan Hristov, the designer behind LUDUS. He originally comes from Skopje, Macedonia but he studied on the Academy of Fine Arts - Brera in Milan, Italy. Despite his aversion towards fashion environments, Dragan found fashion to be his language, thereby ending up working in the industry. He is currently involved in the preparation of a performance with his latest collection called "#Imperfections", at the medieval mall in his hometown. The performance will take place at the end of May 2017, and it will involve two artists who will bring garments from the 1930s to life. He is also involved in curating local fashion events in his town. Dragan has a cat named Pucko and he misses him dearly whenever he leaves his home. His favorite city is Milan, and due to his upbringing he does not have any idols. He also feels that pleasure should not make anyone guilty, therefore he does not have a guilty pleasure per se.

 Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?)

I am a fashion designer with german roots currently based in Berlin, Germany. I recently graduated with an MA degree from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design in Copenhagen, Denmark. Before, I studied in the Netherlands where I completed my BA degree at the Academy of Fine Arts & Design in Maastricht. With a passion for fields that I know little about I like to explore new methods and techniques that inspire both silhouette and surface of my designs. I love projects that combine fashion with other disciplines like art or science. For my graduation collection VOID – Exp. No I I experimented with different laser cut techniques based on the concept of negative space.

Multi talented Dennis Vanderbroeck

Dennis Vanderbroeck is a 23 years old designer who now lives in Rotterdam and studies in Maastricht. At this moment He is graduating from the theatre academy, performance art. In his work, he is trying to create cross-overs between fashion, fine art and performance using video, photography and live performance. With his "childish" way of approaching it he create hyper-esthetical and humorous images. 

Introducing Dennis Vanderbroeck

1. Please introduce yourself to our readers. (Who are you, where do you come from and what is your field of specialization?) 
My name is Dennis Vanderbroeck. I’m 22 and I’m currently living in Maastricht but originally I’m from Zoetermeer, a small village kind-a-thing near Den Haag.
I’m studying performance art at the Theatre Academy here in Maastricht, which, for me, is a combination of theatre and fine arts. In my work I’m trying to create cross-overs between my fascinations, such as fashion, fine arts, video and theatre.
