Q & A with designer MariusVisser

Finding your own voice is difficult, where and how do you find your personal creativity? 
It just needs to be sharp and new.

How would you describe your work? What is your technique?  
My bags are made out of beautiful materials. For me, that’s even more important than the actual bag.

What was the most important thing your parents taught you, that you now bring into your work? 
My whole family is into design and architecture/interior. Being open minded is what they taught me.


What is your most favorite brand? Why? 
Givenchy. Because they apply beautiful prints and they look into the future.

How would you define fashion? 
Looking backwards and forwards all the time.

What do you strive for in your work? 
Open a bag factory in the future.

What are the key factors in your design? 
Future and new.

What makes your items different from others? Or what is your designing philosophy? 
I combine different materials (leather/metal/wood) with each other.

How do you keep innovating? 
Design new things that have not been in the market yet.

What are your views on gender categorization in fashion? 
Nowadays everything is unisex.


What does your collection try to communicate? What is it about? 
I hope people who wear it will communicate with each other about how beautiful the bags are.

Why have you decided to participate at FASHIONCLASH? 
Compared with the other markets that I have attended, this festival is more aimed at fashion which attracts different people.

What can we expect from you at the festival? 
I will make a nice market stand on the festival.

Who are your target consumers? 
People who know what a leather bag is worth.

What is your price range?
€150-€250 and sale products.

How do you balance between the function of the items and the appearance of them?
I don’t care about function, instead, it has to be beautiful.
