Accessible design at 9th edition of D(esign)-day in Maastricht
D(esign)-day is a unique and surprising podium for designers that design and create. Their one-of-a-kind limited edition concepts are produced with sustainability as the unifying theme. The event is held in the Timmerfabriek, a historic, industrial location in Maastricht.
The ninth edition of D(esign)-day will start with the traditional opening dinner on Friday 30 May, followed by the Designers for Design auction. Both are an excellent opportunity to meet participating designers and other interesting people from the media and business communities.
Two lunch lectures will be held on Saturday and Sunday. In Saturday’s lecture, Dylan van den Berg from Studio Wieki Somers [www.wiekisomers.com] will share the trade secrets behind this successful design duo. Their famous coat rack, based on traditional miners’ racks, can be admired in the foyer of the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam. On Sunday, a series of short presentations will be held on the latest technologies, such as 3D and 2.5D printing and 2D laser cutting.
The opening dinner and lunch lectures will be catered by AdventureCook. Interested? Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The dinner costs €65 and the lunch costs €20.
