DYS|UTOPIA by oh seven two

oh seven two is a collaborative project by seven fashion and two textile students from Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and Design (MAFAD). You can see the presentation during FASHIONCLASH  Festival at Marres, House for Contemporary Culture. On Friday 1 July there will be a performance at 15:00.

"Within DYS|UTOPIA, our collective collection, we want to give a glimpse of how the future could look like in some decades. Our hopes and worries concerning humanity today, will they fulfill? Will people live longer? Will war zones increase? Will we all be refugees or will we have learnt to live in peace? Our acting today has an impact on the future. That’s what we are sure about. The decisions we take now will leave marks on our progeny. They are the heirs of our future and it depends on us, wether they will live in a pleasant or a nasty world. Through our collection we point out two fictive scenarios: utopia and dystopia. We would like to take you on a trip from one world to the other. The space that connects both sides is the in-between zone or chaos zone, where colours and shapes slowly blend. By the combination of fashion and textile design the showplace will be turned into a unique illusionary realm of experience."

WHAT IS EFTDC?

European Fashion Talent Design Competition (EFTDC) is a national platform for recognizing and supporting young designers who wish to establish and develop international career in the fashion industry.

WHO CAN APPLY?

EFTDC is open for all students of fashion design and other creative courses, as wečč for young designers under 30 years of age.

CATEGORIES

Women's clothing, men's clothing, children's clothing, accessories and footwear.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:

Originality, contemporary relevancy, composition, cut and final fit of the garments.

Please make sura that inside of your garments are as well made as the outside of the garments.

4. Sketches may be either scanned and sent electronically with the application. Sketches may be placed on a CD and mailed with the application to the address below.

FIRST PRIZE

• Exhibition of the sketches and one produced model at SFW2016 in April
• Fashion show at the fall SFW 2016
• Photo shooting for the fall edition of SFW2016
• 1^st place plaque
• Reimbursement in the amount of 500 euros for the material for the winning models production
• Editorial in Parisian fashion magazine The Fashion Insider
• Free collection presentation at Serbia Fashion Week (April 2017)

SECOND PRIZE

• Exhibition of the sketches and one produced model at SFW2016 in April
• Fashion show at the fall SFW 2016

SPECIAL TERMS FOR THE EFTDC SEMI-FINALISTS:

10 semi-finalists must produce one model of their choice from the submitted sketches. The model must be submitted no later than April 6, 2016 to the address of the National Fashion Chamber of Serbia. Or the semi-finalist can bring the model personally to the Jury Day on April 8, 2016 in Novi Sad.

FASHIONCLASH is happy to invite you to sign up for the 6th edition of FASHIONCLASH Festival.

FASHIONCLASH Festival is an inspiring fashion festival based in Maastricht, the Netherlands. FASHIONCLASH Festival shows the art of fashion in the broadest sense of the word. FASHIONCLASH Festival is a platform where young and upcoming designers and artists from various disciplines get the opportunity to present their work to a broad and various audience, national and international press, industry leaders, etc.
Since the 1st edition in 2009 more than 700 talents from more than 30 countries have joined the festival and were given the opportunity to show their talent and work. Some of their careers really took of from there!
