This year during the FASHIONCLASH Festival, Dance will meet Fashion in a special collaboration between FASHIONCLASH and the Dutch Dance Festival (Nederlandse Dansdagen). The project was made possible thanks to the BNG Bank and the BNG "Cultuurfonds" in the framework of its 100th anniversary and its project Eeuwige jeugd, "Eternal youth."

Theatrical Encounters: '[un]folding space' by Juliette Bogers
Juliette Bogers, born in Roosendaal, a little town in the south of the Netherlands near the border of Belgium. Growing up close to a border made me become curious to know what´s behind.
Different cultures, different perspectives and different point of views offer an inspirational knowledge of world we are living in.
When exploring the boundaries of the field of fashion to search my place in it, I feel the same urge to know what´s behind and by what it’s inspired. By working with different disciplines within the same period of time, new perspectives broaden and inspire my view on the field. Photography and choreography are two disciplines that are close to me; the first one looks at the world from another perspective and the second one explores your place and space in it. I love to work and design with the moulage method; the fabric leads the design around the body until the most ultimate form is found.

Theatrical Encounters: Annemarije van Harten and Judith de Joode
| Annemarije van Harten picture Peter Stigter |
'So wie es ist bleibt es nicht' B. Brecht
Since a long time Judith has the desire to become a 'thing', something that just is. A plant that is standing next to the portrait on the chimney, a coat on the hallstand. Annemarije likes to make people disappear in her designs. She made a chair for Judith to stay in. Or disappear into. Where is Judith?
Best, Annemarije.
Join us at FASHIONCLASH Maastricht 2012 Exhibition to see the result of this inspiring encounter...

Theatrical Encounter by Juliette Bogers and Cynthia Jordens

| Cut Away The Time Will Tell (fragment) |
Juliette Bogers & Cynthia Jordens
While I am reading J.D. Salingers’s A Perfect Day for Bananafish, sending a text message and, simultaneously, updating my status on facebook, I wonder; how do I use my time? And more specifically, how do I relate to the power of images and information to which I constantly expose myself and which is poured out on me?
The performance Cut Away The Time Will Tell is situated in a contemporary interior. The dancers represent fragments of scenes from a past which contours slowly, occasionally place a still frame around the present and try to get a grip at a future which is not yet defined.
Cut Away The Time Will Tell takes away from our contemporary visual culture which is dictated by velocity and visibility. But above all, seeks to make the most precious possession in modern society tangible: time.
